The annual Cornish Festival kicks off on Tuesday this week (19th April) around some of the best golf courses in the country. The 3 day event sees all close to 100 professionals play one round on each of the courses, Trevose, St Enedoc and Carlyon Bay Hotel with their aggregate scores accumulated over the week and the winner announced on Thursday evening.
Last year the winning professional was none other that Champions of Golf's very own Paul Broadhurst who returned a total score of -14 after three days play and will be looking to defend his title in 2016. After a nervy week where he had to have an injection in his shoulder and intensive physiotherapy, Paul has traveled to Cornwall after a few days of practice and with his usual team, will be looking for silverware.
Peter though will be keen to stop his Ryder Cup and European Tour comrade and get to top spot himself. On the back of a strong showing at the very first Senior Masters Tour event at his home club, South Staffordshire Golf Club, where he finished 2nd, one shot adrift of Paul Streeter, Peter is showing good form and will no doubt be a challenge come Thursday afternoon. Also in the mix will be another Ryder Cup player who Paul outscored on the final day in 2015, Phillip Price, eventually finishing 2nd to Paul.
You can follow all of the live scoring from Cornwall through the PGA's website at: https://pgagbi.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/pgagbi16/event/pgagbi16309/contest/...
Good luck to Paul and Peter!
