The Cornish Festival held on the South West and Wales PGA rota is one of the most eagerly anticipated events by local and club professionals within the PGA governing body. It takes place over three of the countries most prestigious courses, St Enedoc, Trevose and Newquay.
The event is a 54 hole stroke-play event for PGA professionals running alongside a 54 hole team event with the best two nett scores to count from the four players on each hole.
Paul heads into the week, which begins on the 21st April with the first round, on the back of a run of recent good performances including wins at the PGA Midlands Winter Series at Little Aston shooting a seven under par 65 to win by three strokes in late March which came after a PGA Midlands Winter Series win at the Forest of Arden a month previously as the only player on the day to shoot under par, winning by four strokes.
Peter has had a slightly disrupted run up to this week having strained his intercostal muscle in his chest only a week ago. However after some intense physio and although not swinging 100%, he will make the trip to Cornwall in a bid to challenge Paul and the rest of the field to claim the title.
in 2014 Paul finished just one shot adrift of winner James Ruth who's total for the three rounds was an admirable nine under par. It really wasn't Paul's week as his team also finished second in that competition four points behind winner Chris Gane and his team, so in 2015, Paul will certainly be looking to make amends for both close calls last year.
Paul begins his event at Newquay teeing off in round one at 8.40am. His second round takes place at St Enedoc at 10.40am on day two before his final round at 1.20pm playing around Trevose.
Peter plays his 54 holes in a slightly different order and begins with St Enedoc at 8.30am, closing with his final 18 holes around Newquay at 1.10pm. In the middle Peter will play Trevose teeing off at 10.30am.
