The Challenge Tour this week heads to Foshan City in China for The Foshan Open, the penultimate event remaining on the 2015 schedule and the last full field event of the season. In strong positions on the final Order of Merit heading into the week, Australian Scott Arnold, and Scotsman Scott Henry, both Champions of Golf stablemates will be looking to end the season in style and book their berths amongst the European elite on tour in 2016.
The event now in its third year on the schedule has often been a headline in the players seasons and this year will be no exception as the increased prize fund, now up to $500,000, will make a big difference to all the players inside the top 15 on the Order of Merit and those outside it pushing for their automatic 2016 European Tour card.
Both Scott's will be looking to emulate the heroics of last seasons winner, and also fellow stablemate at Champions of Golf, Jason Palmer, who after winning three times on the Alps Tour the season previously won his debut Challenge Tour event at the 2014 installment of the Foshan Open which he followed up with a 2nd place finish the week after further cementing his full card for this season and realising his dream of playing on the main European Tour. Scott Arnold has already been victorious this season lifting the Cordon Golf Open in France earlier in the season which has given his a very real chance of breaking into the top 15 on the Order of Merit, something he has his sights set firmly on with this week ahead of him and the Challenge Tour Grand Final in Oman two weeks after.
Scott Henry is currently just outside the top 15 in 16th spot, but with only a handful of Euro's between him at 15th he will be hoping that his weeks practice in Dubai will stand him in good stead ahead of the Chinese challenge.
Both Scott's begin their first round on Thursday 22nd October with live scoring available through the European Tour's website on www.europeantour.com/challengetour
Everyone at Champions of Golf wish both Scott's the best of luck for China and for the Grand Final in Oman where they will both be playing.
