Champions of Golf professionals top of the 2016 stats

Champions of Golf professionals Paul Broadhurst, David Gilford and Gary Wolstenholme MBE have all had seasons to remember on the European Senior Tour in 2016 and a review of the statistics from the season make for some very pleasant reading.

2016 Senior Open Champion, PGA Champions Tour Rookie of the Year and John Jacobs European Senior Tour Order of Merit winner Paul Broadhurst topped a lot of leaderboards in 2016 however with a stroke average of 69.04 over 26 rounds, he has the best stroke average on the European Senior Tour. Paul also leads the tour on Scrambles (making par or better on holes where the player misses the green), getting up and down 75% of times, leading by over 7%.

Another of the Champions of Golf stable who claimed bragging rights after the 2016 season was David Gilford. In a category where you would expect John Daly to be triumphant, David, with an average of 277.4yds, took the Driving Distance crown.

The final success story is Gary Wolstenholme, one of the most consistent players on the European Senior Tour. Gary leads the tour in Driving Accuracy, hitting a staggering 75% of fairways per round.

Congratulations to Paul, David and Gary on all their achievements and the best of luck for the 2017 season ahead.
