Champions of Golf, the Midlands based golf management agency is delighted to announce they have today signed up and coming Northern golf star Nike ambassador Marcus Armitage on a 3 year deal.
Hailing from Huddersfield the Howley Park Golf Club professional will play the 2016 golf season on the European Challenge Tour and will be assisted in his professional golf journey by Champions of Golf Golf Tour Manager Peter Baker.
In 2013 Marcus won the first event on the EuroPro Tour schedule and his first maiden career victory at the Kingspan Concra Wood Open. Since then Marcus has progressed well in the game but his development took a real boost in 2015 as he lifted his second and third professional titles on the HotelPlanner.com EuroPro Tour at The GRENKE Championship and The Tree of Life Championship.
Not only was Marcus buoyed by the success of these two victories but as the top five players on the final Order of Merit get their cards on the European Challenge Tour, the next tier up in European professional golf, he achieved his goal. A final 4th place finish in the standings gave him that coveted place on the European Tour for 2016, a result that young Lancastrian has grasped.
Currently playing out of Howley Hall Golf Club and being supported by Nike, who have partnered Marcus for multiple seasons, he is working hard on his game and playing in pre-season Algarve Pro Tour events in Portugal in a bid to get game sharp and fit for the long Challenge Tour season ahead.
