This week Champions of Golf were on tour with Scott Jamieson, Marc Warren, Matthew Southgate and Graeme Storm in Scotland at the Johnnie Walker Championship 2013, held at the majestic Gleneagles golf course.
After a week off all four are fit and ready to get the next leg of their European Tour seasons underway with this week in Scotland followed by the Wales Open at Celtic Manor. The two weeks have very strong links with the Ryder Cup, Gleneagles is to host the event next year and Celtic Manor was the venue for the Euroepan Team's triumph in 2010. The Wales Open is also the first event in the Ryder Cup points race to make the team for 2014, this is a major goal for all European Tour players especially Scott and Marc, currently both inside the top 25 on the Race to Dubai and both looking to play on home soil in Scotland.
The Johnnie Walker Championship 2013 is Gleneagles last major event before the Ryder Cup makes its entrance in a little over a year and so all eyes will be on them this week as this provides the ideal dress rehearsal before the world descends on Auchterarder in 2014.
