Golf is now truly a global sport and no more is that prevalent than in the last two weeks on the European Senior Tour. Last week a handful of European Tour professionals including Barry Lane, Colin Montgomerie, Roger Chapman and Bernhard Langer all took part in the 77th US Senior PGA Championship at Benton Harbour in Michigan. Also included in the field was 2015 Prostate Cancer UK Scottish Senior Open Champion and Total Motion UK ambassador, our very own Champions of Golf professional Paul Broadhurst.
This event was the second 'major' in as many weeks for the world’s best senior players and the first event that counted towards the European Senior Tour 2016 Order of Merit. Opening and closing rounds of four under par gave Paul a finish of 31st place, a very respectable achievement for his first event in America since turning 50 and propels him straight to 6th on this season Order of Merit.
However this week the seniors head back to home soil with the SSE Enterprise Wales Senior Open at the beautiful Celtic Manor resort. Not only will Paul be playing but his fellow Champions of Golf seniors will also be in attendance including 3 time Senior Tour winner Gary Wolstenholme MBE and David Gilford embarking on his first full season as a senior. We wish them all well in Wales!
For live scoring from Wales with the event running from Friday 3rd June and finishing on Sunday 5th, please check out the European Senior Tour website at: www.europeantour.com/seniortour
Its not only the seniors that are in action this week, so is another of our professionals, Australian former world number one amateur Scott Arnold is taking to the fairways, playing at the Nordea Masters in Sweden hosted by Henrik Stenson on the European Tour.
Scott gets underway from Thursday 2nd June and live scoring from Sweden can be found at www.europeantour.com and live action throughout the week on Sky Sports.
Good luck to all the Champions of Golf professionals in action this week around Europe.
