After winning last year’s Standard Bank Mauritius Open, Gary put in another strong performance to finish fourth at this year’s championship around the very difficult Le Tousserok course.

Denmark’s Mark Haastrup, who narrowly lost out to Gary in 2012 eventually finishing in second position, emerged victorious after three rounds of 71 marked a consistent performance, beating Jean-Nicholas Billot, the first professional to shoot a round in the sixties on any of the three competition days, into second place. Romain Bechu was in prime position to take home the title after an incredible second round of 69, but his wayward final round of 80 left him in third position.

Gary put in three good rounds to finish comfortably in fourth place, continuing his success in the championship and finishing as the leading English player.

He will be hoping to bring his good form into the MCB European Senior Tour Championship on the excellent Belle Mare Plage Legends course and continue his love affair with Mauritius. The MCB Tour Championship takes place from Friday 13th to Sunday 16th December, sandwiched between two sponsor Pro-Am's, it brings to a close a fantastic year of golf on the senior circuit and what better way to finish than lifting a title, something Gary will of course be aiming for.

You can follow all of the live scoring throughout the week on the European Senior Tour website at www.europeantour.com/seniortour and also catch the highlights on Sky Sports television.
