Early starter Graeme Storm surged into the lead at the 2013 Lyoness Open powered by Greenfinity on the opening day and sets the clubhouse lead at 6 under par.
Teeing off at 8.30am local time Graeme, sporting his new Ian James Poulter Design (www.ijpdesign.com) apparel, soon made his first impact on the leaderboard as he comfortably birdied the second hole. The former French Open champion soon added to his one under par total after a string of par's Graeme birdied the 7th, 8th and 9th holes to make the turn for home four under par.
Further birdies at the 11th, 13th and 14th saw Graeme atop the leaderboard on seven under par, and not even a bogey at the very difficult 18th hole could dampen his excitement at completing his opening round.
Graeme's first round playing companions had less successful days with Robert Jan Derksen finishing two over par and JB Hansen three under par.
