This week Island Green ambassador and Carus Green Golf Club resident Gary Wolstenholme MBE, will be travelling to Continental Europe for the Italian leg of the European Senior Tour. The event hosted by Villaverde Resort returns to Golf club Udine, after Welshman Stephen Dodd emerged as the victor of last year’s event.
The Udine course remains a well-attended event, and with the course playing to a par of 71 including the signature 16th; an uphill par three with a blind tee shot, this picturesque course will provide a stern test for Gary and his competitors vying for a share of the €360,000 prize fund.
Gary who sits in 36th place on the European Senior Tour Order of Merit, up three places since visits to Hanbury Manor and Woburn Golf Club, still requires a strong finish to earn full 2018 full playing privileges and avoid a return to Qualifying school.
Live scoring from Udine can be found on the European Senior Tour website - http://www.europeantour.com/seniortour/season=2017/tournamentid=2017866/leaderboard/index.html
All the best in Italy Gary!
