Leicestershire golfer and European Tour rookie Jason Palmer started the second leg of the Desert Swing on Wednesday 21st January at the Qatar Commercial Bank Masters at the Doha Golf Club. The 30 year old Champions of Golf star, who shot to fame by gaining his tour card with a stunning end to last season, hopes to follow up on a successful start to 2015, which saw him make the cut at two of his opening three tournaments.
Faced this year with a different class of opposition that includes the likes of World No.1 Rory McIlroy, current US Open champion Martin Kaymer, former ‘Race to Dubai’ winner Henrik Stenson and ‘The Big Easy’ himself, Ernie Els, Jason can be rightly pleased with his rookie season thus far. If he can build on these achievements in Qatar, and subsequently at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic a week later, as the Tour returns to Europe course conditions could well suit Jason’s game.
Everyone here at Champions of Golf wishes Jason Palmer the best of luck as the season gets into full swing!
