Jason returns to roots before Morocco trip

Champions of Golf professional Jason Palmer was welcomed back to his golfing roots this week just before heading off to his next European Tour event, as he was presented with a silver salver from the club where his golfing journey began, Western Park.

As a young amateur Jason began playing golf at Western Park and owes alot to the club that developed him into the professional he is today. Still playing in Leicestershire, at Kirby Muxloe, Jason has always been a supporter of golf in the county and the club have bestowed the award on him in recognition of this and told him how proud they were of his achievements at the presentation.

In the photo above, Jason is joined by club captain Hugh Linden and vice-captain Martin Cobb before being presented with the silver salver by president Gerald Howells. The prize was awarded to Jason in recognition of his achieving European Tour status after winning the Foshan Open on the Challenge Tour in 2014 and finishing 8th on the Order of Merit that same season.

You can follow Jason's progress throughout the week in Morocco live on Sky Sports on by logging onto the European Tour website at www.europeantour.com.
