Marc is Majestic at The Royal Trophy

Marc Warren represented Champions of Golf this week having been invited to play in the Royal Trophy held at the magnificent Dragon Lake Golf Club in China.

Appearing in the European team alongside fellow Scots Paul Lawrie and Stephen Gallacher as well as Alvaro Quiros, Nicolas Colsaerts, David Howell, Thorbjorn Olesen and Bernd Wiesberger, Marc lead his team to victory returning two and half points out of a possible three, a total only matched by David Howell.

As each team tried to get to the illusive winning total of 8.5 points, Marc contribution was significant throughout the foursomes, fourballs and singles matches. Captain Jose Maria Olazabal, who has now become the only winning captain to hold the Seve Trophy, Ryder Cup and Royal Trophy all at once, singled Marc out for special recognition in the way he fought for his victory and the contribution he made to the European effort playing against the best players in Asia including Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Thongchai Jaidee.

Having won the Seve Trophy in dramatic fashion earlier in the year and now having won the Royal Trophy, the next step would be for Marc to make the Ryder Cup team for 2014 when the event returns to scottish soil and this is of course the major aim for 2014.

The European Tour now has a break for a couple of weeks over Christmas but the regular season will resume on the 16th January at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championships and everyone at Champions of Golf wishes Marc the very best for the 2014 season.
