Neil Begins Quest for European Tour Card at Roxburghe

As the European Tour season begins to draw to a close there are still some major prizes up for grabs and not just the prize funds!

Any aspiring tour professional who has dreams of playing on the European Tour will begin their campaign this week to grab a spot to join the elite through a variety of Qualifying School events.

Over the next month the European Tour will hold 8 First Stage qualification tournaments from Austria to Portugal including this weeks event at Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course in Kelso, Scotland. As an Edinburgh resident this location worked out perfectly for Neil who will begin his tournament today (Tuesday 9th September).

After 54 holes of the 72 hole competition, those players within 7 shots of the lead will progress to the final round, with the exact number of players to qualify from the venue announced once all the players have begun their first round. Following the completion of Stage One, Stage Two, another 72 hole qualifying tournament will take place at four venues across Spain, Campo de Golf El Saler, Lumine Golf and Beach Club, Las Collinas and one more to be announced.

Any players successful from Stage Two will compete at the magnificent PGA Catalunya golf resort in southern Spain across 6 days for one of the coveted 25 places on the EUropean Tour in category 15.

Neil begins his event today at Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course alongside Matthew Daley and Harry Bateman teeing off at 09.20, playing with the same two professionals the following day for round two teeing off at 10.30.
