Neil Maintains Lead to Take the Title

Champions of Golf professional Neil Fenwick maintained his round two and round three lead at the European Tour's First Qualifying Stage event at Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course as he reigned supreme in Kelso, Scotland.

After opening the event with an impressive round of 68, Neil was placed behind overnight leader Lloyd Saltman who was four strokes ahead on 8 under par. However a second round 66, six under par was enough for Neil to climb to the top of the leader board, at the tournament halfway stage as Saltman could only manage a one over par 73. Round three saw Neil card another sub par round however this time a chaser from the pack joined Neil on twelve under par as the cut was made and Scottish Amateur Scott Borrowman was the man Neil partnered for the final days play. Despite Scott firing two eagles in his final round a double bogey and three single bogeys halted his chances of keeping pace with Neil who signed for a closing 69 for a 273 total and a 15 under par week in Scotland, to take victory by two shots.

Neil now heads to the Paul Lawrie Invitational, 15-19th September, before turning his attention to the EuroPro season ending Visit Egypt Tour Championship El Gouna in Egypt and also the Second Stage of European Tour Qualifying which is due to take place from the 7-10th November in Spain.

Everyone at Champions and all of Neil's sponsors would like to congratulate him on a fantastic season and wish him well for the Tour Championships and continuation of his 2014 Qualifying School journey.
