A week after Total Motion UK ambassador Paul Broadhurst tried to qualify for his first PGA Champions Tour event, the Allianz Championship, he is back on the trail of another starting berth in this week’s Champions event; the Chubb Classic.
Paul narrowly missed out on his starting place at Broken Sound last week. In a bid to gain one of the four available playing spots in the event Paul fired a qualifying round of 67. However, highlighting the quality of the field, Paul was one shot shy of where he needed to be and scores of 64, 64, 66 and 66 got into the event.
However the Ryder Cup player and six time European Tour winner remains undeterred especially after winning the European Senior Tour 2015 Prostate Cancer UK Scottish Senior Open on debut at Archerfield, confidence remains high.
Tomorrow (Tuesday 9th February) Paul will tee off as he attempts to qualify once again for a Champions Tour event. Paul’s decision to go over to the States for two weeks will hopefully prove to be the right one as once again 55 players will take to the fairways for an 18 hole straight shoot out with the top 4 going forward to compete in the Chubb Classic (formerly the ACE Group Classic) from Friday.
Live scoring from the qualifier can be found at: https://sflpga.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/sflpga16/event/sflpga1632/contest/1/leaderboard.htm
Everyone at Champions of Golf and all of Paul’s sponsors wish him well for this week and the rest of the 2016 season.
