After the success of his debut European Senior Tour Event; finishing tied 7th at the Farmfoods European Senior Masters. Peter headed across the Atlantic Ocean for the PGA Tour Champions Qualifying School first stage in Florida.
Peter and his Q-school competitors were teeing it up at Disney’s Palm Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista for a chance to advance to the final qualifier in late November. The course is described as one of Disney’s toughest golf courses with nine water holes and 94 bunkers strategically placed around the beautiful Florida Woodlands. Such hazards didn’t seem to off-set Peter as he finished his first two rounds two under par. He then shot par again before his final round saw him go two over.
Finishing up level saw Peter comfortably move through to the final qualifier by 3 shots in a field including fellow Farmfoods European Senior Masters competitors James Kingston and Magnus Atlevi, both of whom also advanced. The Q-School Finals will take place from November 28th – December 1st at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course. A total of 27 players from the Florida Regional, and 27 players from the California Regional advanced to the final all vying for a place on the 2018 Champions Tour.
This year’s edition of the Tour goes into its final event in mid-December just after the final qualifying school, and is currently led by German World Golf Hall of Famer Bernhard Langer. From everyone at Champions of Golf we wish Peter all the best!
