After a winter spent at home in Scotland and out in Dubai for an intense practice schedule Craig Group, Aberdeen Asset Management, Callaway and Luke Sport ambassador Scott Henry steps onto the first tee in his first Challenge Tour event of the year this week.
Having played four events on the main European Tour already this season and currently lying in 207th position on the Order Of Merit, Scott is focused now on obtaining his full playing privileges to join Europe's elite through a successful campaign on the 2015 European Challenge Tour as he aims for the top 15 on the Order of Merit come the season ending finale in Oman.
The only previous hosting of the Challenge de Madrid was in 2013 where the event was once again held at El Encín Golf Hotel, Alcala de Henares, and as the event returns in 2015, it will be the first time Scott visits the venue having played a full season on the European Tour in 2013. The 7,539 yard golf course, which is very exposed and effected by windy conditions would play into the favour of big hitting Henry however the vast amount of bunkers and extremely difficult to read greens will make low scoring a difficult job for everyone.
Scott begins his first round at 09.00 (08.00 UK time) alongside Nicolo Ravano and Roope Kakko playing alongside the same two players for round two teeing off at 14.00 (13.00 UK time). This event begins on Wednesday 22nd April and runs to Saturday 25th April, in a change from the normal Thursday - Sunday running of events.
