Scott hits the heights at the Najeti Hotels et Golfs Open

A commanding finish to his fourth and final round of the 2014 Najeti Hotels et Golfs Open saw Scott Henry fly up the Challenge Tour leaderboard and occupy a tied third place finish, his second best finish of the year after coming in as runner up at the Madeira Islands Open earlier in the year.

An opening round 68 on the difficult course located south of Calais in France, was enough to give Scott a share of second place on three under par, just three strokes behind first round leader Julien Guerrier,  but Scott was full of confidence heading into the second round despite finishing with three bogeys in the closing six holes.

A disappointing 74 in the second round followed by a much more consistent 71 in the third round, with eight straight pars to finish, having comfortably made the cut , left Scott in a tie for 17th position with one round to go.

The final round began promisingly with Scott parring the first eight holes and birdying the 9th hole to turn in 35, one under par, not even a double bogey 5 at the 11th hole dampened his spirit as he fired a further 4 birdies on his way into the club house to close with a two under par total of 69, one of the lowest scores of the day, resulting in a top three finish for the Scot, only 5 strokes shy of eventual winner Jordi Garcia Pinto and only two adrift of second place Carlos Aguilar.

This week Scott travels to Ireland for the Irish Open at Fota Island on the European Tour, despite the venue changing from last years event, Scott who finished tied 22nd in 2013 at the Irish Open, will be keen to build on his good start to the 2014 season as he plays his ninth official European Tour event.

Everyone at Champions and all of his sponsors wish Scott the very best for this week in Irleand and congratulate him on a successful week in France.

Well done Scott and keep it up!
