The final event on the PGA of Australasia's calendar until August was this weeks BMW New Zealand Open, held at the spectacular The Hills golf course and The Millbrook golf course in Arrowtown.
Going into the week on a run of good form which saw Champions of Golf professional Scott Arnold move into 4th place on the Order of Merit, he was confident of another good week to close off this period of his season before he heads to Europe in search of more success on the Hotel Planner.com Euro Pro Tour which begins with the Qualifying School in April.
Scott got the week off to a solid start as he fired 68 in the opening round to put himself in good position on four under par. He followed that with a one under par 70 in round two on the more challenging Millbrook course. After the cut was made the final two rounds were played over The Hills course and two closing 67's gave Scott a final total of 15 under par for the week and only six shots behind Jordan Zunic, who with three 66's over the last few rounds, deservedly lifted the title.
The tied seventh finish from Scott was a fine way to end his time on the PGA of Australasia for 2015 and gives him a position of 4th on the Order of Merit, a fine result following 5 tournament starts.
Congratulations to Scott and good luck for the upcoming European season from everyone at Champions of Golf.
