South African Swing begins in Joburg

Returning from watching Anirban Lahiri claim his second European Tour title in only three weeks at the Hero Indian Open last week, the European Tour now moves to South Africa for the next three weeks, kicking off with the Joburg Open from Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club.

For players not yet qualified for the Open Championships, this is one of the most important weeks on the European Tour as the Joburg Open has three spots available for the top three, not already exempt players finishing in the top 10 at the close of play on Sunday afternoon. This is a great incentive and competition will be even more fierce than usual.

Played over the West and East courses at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Golf Club, this event is slightly different to many on the European Tour. However players will play both courses in the first two rounds before the cut is made and the competition moves to the West course for the final two rounds. This week Champions of Golf is proud to have three of its stable in action as Scott Henry, Sean Jacklin and Jason 'the one armed bandit' Palmer all take to the fairways in South Africa.

Playing his first round on the West course alongside Joachim B Hansen and Omar Sandys, Sean tees off in round one at 06.40 (04.40 UK time). For his second round on the East course Sean, again playing with Joachim and Omar, tees off at 09.40 (07.40 UK time).

Jason plays alongside Estanislao Goya and Adilson Da Silva teeing off in round one at 11.40 (09.40 UK time) on the East course followed by round two alongside the same playing partners on the West course at 08.25 (06.25 UK time).

Scott begins on the West course getting underway at 07.00 (05.00 UK time) in round one and for his second round playing on the East course at 10.00 (08.00 UK time). Scott plays both rounds with Shiwan Kim and Tristen Strydom.
