Superb Tommy Fleetwood Secures 2013 Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship Title

After two days of intensely competitive golf, European Tour star Tommy Fleetwood has won this year's Farmfoods British Par 3 Championship, finishing with a score of -4.

The tournament was hotly contested from the start but Fleetwood managed to pull away from the crowd to win the coveted title by a single shot and take home the £25,000 prize money. He has his sights set on the top and is fulfilling the initial promise he showed when he was the youngest player to win the Challenge Tour rankings in 2011 after winning that year's Kazakhstan Open.

Former Ryder Cup player Paul Broadhurst was leading after the first day of the Championship, with a score of -6 and kept his lead throughout the morning session before he teed off. As the afternoon session began on the second day, more players began to challenge for the lead. Fleetwood established himself on top and despite bogeying the final hole, Broadhurst was unable to get the birdie he needed to level the scores and force a play-off.

Fleetwood faced stiff competition from other players including Raymond Russell, Gary Wolstenholme and Ian Woosnam but managed to hold off the competition to achieve glory.

The day saw three holes in one for Douglas Dawes, Luke Tarbott and Paul English. European Senior Tour legend Carl Mason won the prize for the Super Seniors contest winning £5,000 and Craig Lawrie won the Norma C Herd Silver Salver for leading amateur.
