  • US Open Past Champions Reunion at Merion GC 2013
US Open Past Champions Reunion at Merion GC 2013

The 1970 US Open Champion, Tony Jacklin CBE, reunited with fellow winners at this weeks Past Champions Reunion photocall before the 2013 US Open Championship gets underway tomorrow at Merion Golf Club.

Pictured alongside Tiger Woods (2000, 2002 and 2008), Rory McIlroy (2011), Graeme McDowell (2010), Angel Cabrera (2007), Michael Campbell (2005) as well as numerous other champions, Tony felt humbled being in such royal company.

Tony commented: ‘I always look forward to the annual Champions Reunion for the US Open. It is an exciting golfing competition and reuniting with past winners honours and keeps alive the prestige and glory that accompanies the Open. Reuniting with old friends and some of the best players in the sport, both established and new, is one of the highlights of my year.’

The waterlogged Merion course will prove a different test to the sorts of courses that the world golfing elite have faced in recent years; nevertheless it will provide compulsive viewing.
