The European Challenge Tour lands in Spain for the Challenge de Catalunya

This week sees the European Challenge Tour make a welcome return to Spain for the second edition of the Challenge de Catalunya to be held at Lumine Golf and Beach Club. This magnificent resort offers visitors 45 holes of championships standard golf with the Greg Norma designed Lakes course set to play host to the event for the very first time.

 Situated south of Barcelona, Lumine has been used as one of the European Tour Schools pre qualifying venues since 2012 but this year welcomes the tour proper as it secured the €160,000 Challenge de Catalunya Championship.

 One of the most recent additions to the 2014 Challenge Tour schedule, this weeks event boosts the total number of tournaments in the 2014 season to 26 across 20 different countries, from Oman to Ireland.

 Calle Carlsson, General Manager at Lumine Golf & Beach Club, said: “To be selected as the new home of the Challenge de Catalunya is an absolute honour and recognition of all the great work that has been achieved at Lumine in the past few years.

 “The announcement also sees us strengthen our relationship with The European Tour, following two successful editions of The European Tour Qualifying School.

 “We look forward to welcoming all the competitors, and watching them plot their way round the challenging Lakes Course in pursuit of the title.”

 Champions of Golf are delighted to be represented in Spain by three of their stable, Scott Arnold, Scott Henry and Jason Palmer, who will all be competing to lift the Championship trophy and boost their Order of Merit rankings ahead of the heavy seasons schedule ahead.

 The tee times for Scott, Jason and Scott are as follows:
