Gary Wolstenholme MBE has jetted off to Switzerland for the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Championship on the back of winning the PGA North Region Lancaster Pro-Am.
A single one day one round event, the Lancaster Pro-Am at Lancaster Golf Club, held on Friday 27th June, was the final piece in Gary's jigsaw to prepare for the restart to the European Senior Tour which take place in Switzerland at the Bad Ragaz Golf Club.
Testing out his new golf Titleist golf equipment in the heat of battle, Gary got off to a flying start with birdies at the 2nd and 4th, however he gave both shots back with bogeys at the 6th and 7th. However this didnt dampen the charge from the world's most capped amateur as he fired more birdies at the 9th, 11th, 14th and 16th. Not even a double bogey at the difficult 17th could stop Gary from lifting the title though as his two under total was enough to earn victory by a single shot from Gareth Jones.
Everyone at Champions of GOlf would like to wish Gary many congratulations and the very best of luck for this week in Switzerland.
