Broadhurst named Rookie of the Year on PGA Tour Champions to cap stellar year

Similar to the Player of the Year, the Rookie of the Year Award is voted on by the players, with Total Motion ambassador Paul Broadhurst claiming the 2016 edition in a vote over Brandt Jobe and Glen Day.

The Englishman posted two wins in 12 starts, claiming The Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex at Carnoustie and the PURE Insurance Championship (previously the Nature Valley First Tee Open) at Pebble Beach, being only the third professional in history to win at this two iconic venues (Tom Watson and Ben Hogan the others). Playing in just his second PGA TOUR Champions event, the six-time European Tour winner and Ryder Cup player held off the likes of Miguel Angel Jimenez and Scott McCarron to win the Senior Open Championship.

Paul is the first player to earn multiple wins on the way to Rookie of the Year honors since Rocco Mediate in 2013, and in addition to this accolade also lifted the John Jacobs trophy on the European Senior Tour, topping the Order of Merit in 2016. Congratulation again Paul on a wonderful season.
