Farmfoods British Par 3 Players Named As Glasgow 2018 Ambassadors

Two of Scotland’s most successful golfing superstars Paul Lawrie and Carly Booth have been unveiled as 2018 European Championship ambassadors this week.

The inaugural European Golf Team Championships will take place at Gleneagles, in Scotland as part of the brand new multi-sport 2018 European Championships in August 2018 to be hosted in Glasgow, and Berlin. The European Championships that gets underway in the summer of 2018 for the first time, bringing together some of the continents leading sports including existing European Championships in Athletics, Aquatics, Cycling, Gymnastics, Rowing, Triathlon in addition to the new Golf Team Championships.

The Golfing Team Championship staged over five competition days will make golfing history, as Europe’s best men and women golfers tee it up side-by-side at a mixed event in a world first for the sport. The Championship offers three medal opportunities for the 64 athletes competing, that will contribute to the Medal Table, these will include:

-Individual Male Match Play Event.
-Individual Female Match Play Event.
-Mixed Stroke Play Team Event.

This exciting new format that offers a 50/50 gender split both in the field and in prize money, for Lawrie and Booth “will break new ground into the sport” increasing participation and interest in golf for both genders as it takes centre stage at yet another multi sporting mega event.
