Scott Jamieson’s South African hot streak has continued with the Glasgow golfer following up his Nelson Mandela Championship victory with a tied 3rd place finish in the Alfred Dunhill Championship after scoring rounds of 70, 68, 71 and 68 to finish the tournament on an impressive -11 under par total of 277.
The event was won by local favourite, the 2011 Masters Tournament winner Charl Schwartzel, who achieved an emphatic 12-shot victory over the rest of the field after rounds of 67, 64, 64 and 69 to finish the event on a -24 under total of 264. Following the result, Scott moves to 2nd on the Race 2 Dubai.
With the weather again wreaking havoc on the tournament, Scott was among a handful of players who managed to tame the Leopard Creek Course at Malelane.
Having progressed to the European Tour in 2011, Scott was one of the leading rookies of the 2011 season and finished at 53rd on the 2012 Race2Dubai. His Nelson Mandela Championship victory at Durban is his first European Tour win and if his current form is anything to go by, it should be the first of many.
