Mauritius is final swan song for Seniors in 2014

The 2014 European Senior Tour season draws to a close and in what magnificent surroundings, the Constance Belle Mare Plage estates in Mauritius. With the John Jacobs Trophy for the highest finishing professional in the Order of Merit already in the hands of two time senior major winner and 2010 Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie, the rest of the field will be competing for final glory at the MCB Tour Championships.

Gary Wolstenholme MBE, Champions of Golf's only Senior Tour representative, heads into the week in 25th position in the Order of Merit and unusually without a win in the season, but he will be hoping to change all of that with success this week.

This event has proved fruitful for Gary in recent season with two top 10's in four appearances including a 6th place in 2011 and a 3rd place finish in 2010 on his way to finishing fourth in the overall Order of Merit. Arriving in Mauritius a week before the event is due to officially begin has given Gary valuable time to practice which would have been lost had he stayed at his home in Kendal, Cumbria which has experienced extreme cold weather, something the 60 professionals competing in Mauritius will not have to worry about with the temperatures set to be between 29 and 31 throughout the week.

Gary gets his first round underway at 11.00am (07.00 UK time) alongside American Jerry Smith.

Good luck Gary!
